If money is at a premium, an inexpensive external USB soundcard should (other things being equal) be much quieter than the motherboard sound device that came with the computer.Spend as much money as you can - use a soundcard with balanced inputs, and use shielded cable, sufficiently long so that you can move the microphone right away from the computer.
